When My Eyes Can’t See

When my eyes can’t see

I’ll still be able to smell and hear and feel

And my eyes will see without seeing

When my ears can’t hear

I’ll still be able to smell and feel

And my eyes will be seeing without seeing

And so my ears will hear through them

When my sense of smell goes

I’ll still be able to feel

And my eyes will see without seeing

My ears will hear anyway

And so I’ll be able to smell

When I am unable to feel any more

I’ll still be able to feel and see and smell and hear

For my mind will sense the flow of energy all around

And that’s how I have always lived

And so my heart will still beat.

When my mind moves on
And all else is gone

I’ll still be able to live

With every fibre of my being

Because the beacon of light in my heart

Will shine its light forth

And every beat shall celebrate my eternal love

For life and the living.

And my body, my entire existence

Shall dance to my heart’s music

And when my heart stops beating

After all its encores

I will live on in the echo

Of my life in the world

For what is life but an eternal presence

That moves sights, sounds, smells, feelings and vision?

For what is life but a force, an energy

So vibrant that it permeates all darkness?

And how can one die when there is such a nurturing life force shining in you all your life?

When the music is over

The silence thereafter

Is the realisation that there was music

And the air waves dance on long after.

When I won’t be living any more

That is when I’ll be more alive

In the waves my life shall leave behind.
